'Fourmone' comes from the latin 'Frumentum' or 'Wheat': The place where wheat grew well, where this precious foodstuff was accumulated. The name 'Fourmone' came from force of habit and the practice of using the family name over the years to describe the farm house.
Since the XV11 century, the working of the land has been the first preoccupation of the Domaine la Fourmone. The slow change happened over many years. The original home place was extended giving way to the existing buildings surrounded by greenery. The winery took over from the barns, out houses and menageries. On the land, the vines replaced blackberry bushes, olive trees and cereal fields.

One of the personalities who stands out in the life of the domaine is: Roger Combe, poet and writer, who assiduously defended the language of Mistral; his Provencal poems are a testament to it. Proud of his origins, he cultivated with talent the respect for tradition which is found in the quality of the wines of the Domaine.
Today, the Domaine is run by his daughters Marie-Thérèse 'Maître de Chais' and Aline.
They will welcome you with pleasure to the heart of the Domaine for a wine tasting.
